The Fiat 508 CM was an Italian military passenger car derived from the civilian 508 family. It was developed for liaison, reconnaissance, and personnel transport. Its open bodywork and modified suspension were suited for off-road use.
A four-cylinder petrol engine drove the rear wheels. The vehicle was lightweight and relatively easy to maintain. The Coloniale version featured modifications for the hot and dusty conditions found in Italian overseas territories.
