At De Liefhebberij, we want to offer enthusiasts not just a beautiful assortment, but also the freedom to put together their own projects. With the Stacking Discount, you receive an immediate benefit when you combine multiple model kits and/or sufficient products from the Materials & Tools category in a single order.

On this page, we explain how the Stacking Discount is calculated, which products qualify, and what happens in the event of promotions, cancellations, and returns.

1. When does the Stacking Discount apply?

The Stacking Discount applies to eligible orders placed via www.deliefhebberij.com starting from October 1, 2026.

Orders completed before this time cannot be adjusted retrospectively or have the Stacking Discount applied after the fact.

The Stacking Discount is calculated per individual order. Products from different orders cannot be combined to reach a higher discount tier.

2. Which products qualify?

The following non-discounted products count towards the Stacking Discount:

• Model kits offered on our website within the Model Building Kits category;

• Products offered on our website within the Materials & Tools category.

Each individual participating model kit counts as one discount unit. When you order two copies of the same model kit, these count as two model kits and thus as two discount units.

Every full €40 spent on participating products from the Materials & Tools category also forms one discount unit.

The total number of discount units within a single order determines the discount tier that applies to the order.

Discount units have no cash value. They cannot be redeemed, saved, transferred, or carried over to a subsequent order.

The following products and costs do not count:

• Discounted items;

• Items already subject to another discount or promotion;

• Items that are part of a separate promotional campaign or value bundle;

• Books;

• Gift cards;

• Shipping costs;

• Payment fees;

• Services;

• Products outside the participating categories.

Discounted items and promotional products do not generate discount units and do not receive additional Stacking Discount.

3. What discount tiers apply?

The total number of discount units determines the discount percentage:

• 0 or 1 discount unit: no Stacking Discount;

• 2 discount units: 5% discount;

• 3 discount units: 7% discount;

• 4 or more discount units: 10% discount.

The maximum Stacking Discount is 10%. Additional products or discount units do not further increase the discount percentage.

4. How does Materials & Tools count?

Every full €40 on participating products from the Materials & Tools category forms one discount unit.

This means:

• €0 to €39.99: 0 discount units;

• €40 to €79.99: 1 discount unit;

• €80 to €119.99: 2 discount units;

• €120 to €159.99: 3 discount units;

• €160 or more: at least 4 discount units and thus a maximum 10% discount.

Only full amounts of €40 result in a discount unit. A remaining amount less than €40 does not result in an additional discount unit.

Only participating products without an existing discount or promotion count towards the amount. The calculation is based on the retail prices including VAT and before the application of the Stacking Discount.

The value of discounted items, promotional products, shipping costs, and other surcharges is not included when determining the number of discount units.

5. When does Materials & Tools receive a discount?

If the total amount of participating, non-discounted products from the Materials & Tools category is less than €40, this product group does not generate a discount unit, and no Stacking Discount is calculated for these products.

From €40 onwards, Materials & Tools forms at least one discount unit. As soon as the total order contains at least two discount units, the achieved discount percentage also applies to the participating products from this category.

An amount between two thresholds is fully included for the achieved discount percentage. For example, €100 of participating Materials & Tools creates two discount units. If the order thereby falls into the 7% tier, this discount applies to the full participating amount of €100.

6. Calculation examples

Two model kits

Two participating model kits together form two discount units. The order therefore falls into the 5% discount tier. You receive a 5% discount on both model kits.

Three model kits

Three participating model kits together form three discount units. The order therefore falls into the 7% discount tier. You receive a 7% discount on the three model kits.

Four or more model kits

Four or more participating model kits result in at least four discount units. You receive the maximum Stacking Discount of 10%.

One model kit and €40 of Materials & Tools

The model kit forms one discount unit. The €40 of participating Materials & Tools also forms one discount unit.

Together, these make two discount units. The order therefore falls into the 5% discount tier. You receive a 5% discount on the model kit and the participating products from Materials & Tools.

One model kit and €100 of Materials & Tools

The model kit forms one discount unit. The €100 of participating Materials & Tools contains two full amounts of €40 and therefore forms two discount units.

Together, these make three discount units. The order therefore falls into the 7% discount tier. You receive a 7% discount on the model kit and the entire participating amount of Materials & Tools.

Two model kits and €100 of Materials & Tools

The two model kits together form two discount units. The €100 of participating Materials & Tools also forms two discount units.

Together, these make four discount units. You therefore receive the maximum Stacking Discount of 10%.

Two model kits and €35 of Materials & Tools

The two model kits together form two discount units and thus fall into the 5% discount tier.

Because the amount for Materials & Tools is less than €40, this product group does not yield a discount unit and no Stacking Discount is calculated on these products.

Two model kits and one discounted model kit

The two non-discounted model kits together form two discount units and receive a 5% Stacking Discount.

The discounted model kit does not count as a discount unit and does not receive an additional Stacking Discount. The existing promotional price for that item remains applicable.

Materials & Tools only

Even without a model kit, discount units can be accrued with non-discounted, participating products from the Materials & Tools category.

At €80 of participating Materials & Tools, two discount units are created and you receive a 5% discount. At €160, four discount units are created and you receive the maximum Stacking Discount of 10%.

7. Application in the shopping cart

When you meet the requirements, the Stacking Discount is displayed in the shopping cart or during checkout.

Only participating products without an existing discount or promotion are included in the calculation.

Always check the discount amount and the final order total before payment. Do you think you are entitled to a Stacking Discount, but it is not displayed? Do not complete the order yet and contact us first. We are happy to check what is going on.

In principle, Stacking Discount cannot be added retrospectively to an already completed order.

The discount amount stated in the final order summary and the order confirmation applies to the order.

8. Combining with other discounts and offers

The Stacking Discount cannot be combined with individual discount codes, personal discount codes, automatic order discounts, value bundles, temporary discount promotions, or other offers.

When another discount or offer applies to an item, that item does not count towards the Stacking Discount and does not receive an additional Stacking Discount.

Discounted items may be placed in the shopping cart together with other products. However, they remain completely outside the calculation of the Stacking Discount. The remaining non-discounted products can still form discount units and qualify for the Stacking Discount.

When a discount code or other discount is applied to the entire order, the Stacking Discount cannot be simultaneously applied to that order. The shopping cart and checkout will show which discount is ultimately granted.

There is no right to a combination or addition of different discounts.

Gift cards act as a payment method and do not generate discount units.

9. Pre-orders and different delivery times

A pre-order within a participating product group can count towards the Stacking Discount as long as the item is not discounted and no other discount or offer applies to it.

If a pre-order is already offered at a promotional price or is part of a separate offer, it does not count and the item does not receive an additional Stacking Discount.

When an order contains both items that are available immediately and pre-orders, different delivery times or separate shipments may apply. The provisions regarding pre-orders and delivery in our other terms and conditions remain in effect.

10. Cancellations and returns

The Stacking Discount does not limit your statutory rights and right of withdrawal.

In the event of a return, the amount refunded per returned product is the amount you actually paid for that product after the Stacking Discount was applied. You will never be refunded more than the amount charged for the product in question.

In the event of a partial return, we will not retrospectively revoke the previously granted Stacking Discount on the products you keep. The other provisions regarding return costs, shipping costs, refunds, and exceptions remain fully applicable.

If De Liefhebberij cancels a product because it cannot be delivered unexpectedly, the amount paid for it will be refunded. A previously granted Stacking Discount on the remaining products will not be retroactively revoked in that case.

11. Changes or termination of the Stacking Discount

The Stacking Discount is a new discount structure that we continue to evaluate in practice.

De Liefhebberij may change the participating product groups, discount units, discount tiers, threshold amounts, discount percentages, combination options, and other conditions.

De Liefhebberij expressly reserves the right to temporarily interrupt the Stacking Discount at any time or to permanently discontinue the entire discount promotion.

A change, interruption, or termination does not apply retroactively to already legally completed orders in which the Stacking Discount has been included in the order confirmation.

Any changes will be published on this page. The date at the top of the page indicates when the terms were last updated.

12. Relationship to our other terms and conditions

This explanation is a supplement to our general terms and conditions and our returns and refund policy.

Statutory consumer rights always remain applicable. If a provision on this page conflicts with mandatory applicable consumer law, the relevant legal right shall apply.
