Dear enthusiast,
The range of model kits can be quite overwhelming when you're just starting out. Aircraft, vehicles, different scales, and varying levels of difficulty: where do you begin?
Our most important advice is simple: don't start with anything too difficult. A challenging kit can be beautiful, but also frustrating when you still have little experience. Therefore, choose a model that appeals to you and remains manageable.
1. Choose a simple model kit
Pay attention to the number of parts and the difficulty level. With a straightforward kit, you can calmly discover how everything works.
2. Consider a starter set
A starter set often includes paint, glue, or a brush. This way, you have the most important supplies all together right away.
3. Start with the basics
Your first model doesn't have to be perfect. Focus first on neatly removing, fitting, and gluing the parts. The small details will come later.
4. Use good tools
Side cutters, a hobby knife, a cutting mat, suitable glue, and a few brushes make building a lot more enjoyable. A small basic set will get you a long way.
5. Take your time
Read the assembly instructions beforehand and work step by step. Let the glue and paint dry thoroughly. Model building is not a race; the enjoyment lies in the process itself.
6. Choose a subject that interests you
An aircraft, vehicle, or historical subject that you are curious about makes building extra fun. Sometimes inspiration doesn't start with the box, but between the pages of a good book.

Every model builder started with a first kit at some point. Mistakes are part of the process, and you learn something new from every model. What begins with a few parts on the workbench can eventually grow into a lifelong hobby.
