Last week we told you about the soft launch of De Liefhebberij. This week, I'd like to take you back to the very beginning: the origin of the idea and the first steps required to make it a reality.
De Liefhebberij didn't come about overnight. My interest in model building started in my childhood. Ten years ago, this hobby gained new momentum, and a few years later, the idea arose to build something for other enthusiasts.
The idea was to create more than just a store or webshop. De Liefhebberij should become a place where special products and carefully selected brands come together with personal service, honest advice, and genuine attention for the customer.
In the long run, we also want to create a place where people can come together to pursue their hobby, share experiences, and help each other.
From that initial idea, the real building began. We had to think about the assortment and the step-by-step plan, but also about possible collaborations, the look and feel of De Liefhebberij, and especially how we want to help our customers.
You don't build a place that's meant to last in a single day. That's why we deliberately opted for a soft launch. This allows us to calmly lay a solid foundation, learn from every step, and let De Liefhebberij grow further together with you.
We are still at the beginning. Not everything is finished yet, and behind the scenes, construction is still in full swing. Precisely for this reason, we greatly appreciate that you are already with us, thinking along with us, and having confidence in what De Liefhebberij can become.
